“I'm very pleased to be shortlisted, and proud of what we have achieved within the last year, particularly the opening of our new training facility in Gateshead. I'm looking forward to seeing the industry grow, and to see more people undertake GWO training, hopefully with us! It's exciting to think about how we can improve the training people receive, and the way we as a company are developing our courses within the GWO framework to make them more engaging, realistic, and useful for our participants. Whether that is by developing our practical facilities or trying to make use of new technology such as Augmented Reality.”

Safer at Work was founded in 2014 to provide high quality, specialist training required for the wind industry. Since then, it has expanded into other high-risk sectors, including utilities and workplace, sharing best practices and procedures.

 

With in-depth knowledge of all aspects of health and safety training, including the development, design, and delivery of training courses, Safer at Work provides training and other services in working at height, confined spaces, rescue, first aid, manual handling, and fire safety.

 

Their goal is to ensure wind industry professionals are competent to safely work in high risk environments by delivering practical, engaging, real-world training in a realistic environment.
