What does ‘Training Team of the Year’ mean?

GWO Training is always delivered by teams of people. This includes instructors - of course - but also colleagues and employees across the business. Perhaps you have a team that works really closely with customers and always gives them a unique service to meet their needs. This award is designed to respect that GWO Training is a team effort and everyone deserves to be recognised for their role in it.

Can we create more than one submission for a category?

Yes. For example, a GWO Training provider/company operating more than one site can enter the same award twice, but please note the entries will be considered as separate and thus you will be competing against yourselves! If you would like to enter two separate teams from one training centre, they will also compete against one another. For example, you may have a team that delivers Basic Technical Training and another that delivers Advanced Rescue. The category is meant to be flexible, so if you are struggling to decide, get in touch and we will help you out.

Which Training Team of the Year category will I be entered into?

Training Team of the Year has three main variations: Regional, Global (size based) and Newcomer. If your GWO training centre is based in the United States, you will be placed into the 'Americas' group. If you win, come runner up or highly commended in this category, you will be entered into the global section which is based on the size of your operation - calculated by the number of uploads to WINDA, your training centre completed in 2019 and 2020. For details on this number, check out our annual report from 2019 and 2020 which includes every training provider's numbers https://www.globalwindsafety.org/statistics. The Newcomer category is for training providers who certified after the 1st January 2019.

What supporting material should I provide?

A good award entry always includes some supporting material. You can't expect the judges to rely on your word alone if you tell us 'our clients love us'. It is much more helpful if you have a document that proves your clients appreciate your work. But it's not just about endorsement. If you have created a unique method of delivering training, it will be really helpful if you can provide the judges with some evidence of how it works and what the benefits are? Did you achieve improvements in learning? How did you measure them? Documentation is really helpful
